Speed Groups

Last updated: 28 September 2024

To ensure that everyone gets to ride at a pace that is comfortable for them, we have four main groups, each with sub-groups.  We are a road cycling club so you will need a road bike with drop handlebars and smooth tyres.

Tigers

Very Easy Tigers (VET's)

VET's average 10-12 mph and this is the minimum paced ride we offer. We ask that you can do at least this pace over 30 miles (48 km) with some hills before joining club rides. If you’re not sure, you could try riding this route. If you can manage this in around 2 hours 45 minutes without stopping for a break then you should be able to keep up with VET's.
